The Sangre de Cristo Museum and Cultural Center has many educational displays depicting life in the Valley’s Past. From a Turn-of-the-Century Post Office, images of the first steamboat on the Rio Grande River, artifacts from the early days of railroading and many agricultural collections, this is a perfect place to learn about the San Luis Valley’s history and heritage!
The Museum is located in San Luis, the oldest town in Colorado, which also features the oldest family store in the state. The museum includes beautiful murals and paintings and the north wing is home to the Carlos Beaubien Theatre.
