Directions: From South Fork, Colorado, take Highway 160 for 13 miles west, turn onto Forest Road 410 SW, and go 1.8 miles to Big Meadows Campground.

Spruce Lakes Trail #710
3/4 mi – Upper Lake from Big Meadows

Hunter Lake Trail #800 – Road Closed due to washout.

Largest Fir Tree in Rio Grande Forest

Near Beaver Creek Reservoir’s Cross Creek Campground. Follow the signs to #812-Cross Creek trail and Big Tree trail south of campground takes you to the largest tree in the Rio Grande NF – 66″ diameter
Directions: In South Fork, CO, at intersection of Hwy 149 and US 160, take US 160 west 1.4 miles to Beaver Creek Rd. sign (Forest Rd. 20). Turn left onto Beaver Creek Rd. and go 6.4 miles to campground sign. Turn left at sign into campground. NOTE: Forest Rd. 20 becomes gravel after 4 miles.
