The Annual Creede Chute Out Rodeo Series brings the exciting sport of rodeo to Creede and adds to the many attractions that Mineral County has to offer. The Creede Chute Out is a fast-paced, high energy and crowd-thrilling show.  There will be Events for the kids, fun with the rodeo clown and plenty of action for the fans to enjoy.  The Creede Chute Out is produced by Burris and Sons Bucking Bulls of Mosca, Colorado. Events include Bull Riding,Barrel Racing,Sheep Chase, Calf Scramble,Mutton Busting, andTeam Roping.

Bike 2 Build

Hope you are staying well and safe. During this worldwide pandemic, we are moving our Bike2Build, San Luis Valley Century event to a virtual event to foster a collective cycling camaraderie. We will truly miss serving baklava, rugelach, fresh baked muffins at the rest stops this year!!! In this time of home quarantine, the importance of having a safe place to be at home is truly significant.

Between Sat July 11 – Sat July 18, please join us, cycle where you are, any distance you would like to pedal and help raise funds to build a place to call HOME. You can pedal a road bike, a commuter bike, a mountain bike, a stationary bike … any kind of bike!! Ask your friends and family to pledge your pedaling. This year we are offering cumulative incentives for fund raising efforts above the registration fee:
$150 raised – Water Bottle
$300 raised – Inner Tube Earrings or Key Chain
$500 raised – Small Bike Bag (could hold keys)

Highest raised – Mountain Cabin Stay

The Ute people have lived in the Great Sand Dunes region for centuries. Roland McCook, a descendant of the family group of 19th century Ute leaders Ouray and Chipeta, will share stories, cultural objects and historic photos, while Morgan Dawn Allen helps children create their own beaded bracelets at no charge (while supplies last). They will informally share and answer questions at the Great Sand Dunes Visitor Center between 10am-2pm, and give a more formal presentation at 1pm.

Beat the Heat is a 2-day KCBS Sanctioned BBQ Competition. where professional BBQ teams compete for 15k in cash prizes. Held annually in Alamosa, CO, teams travel from all over the country to compete. Beat the Heat bost something for everyone with People’s Choice Category which allows event-goers to taste BBQ from Professional teams and vote for their favorites. Other activities include the Hogwaller Mud Run, a cornhole tournament, a Craft beer tasting and more.
